Cote Hill Blue

Cote Hill Blue

A true family farm business, the Davenports have been farming at Cote Hill Farm, Osgodby for over 30 years.  Cote Hill Blue is made in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds with unpasteurised milk from a herd of 80 Friesian cows.

This beautiful creamy/peppery blue gets its bite from the Penincillium Roquefortii mould.  It matures from a lightly chalky centre to a creamy, even sometimes runny texture.  It is in the style of a Brie/Cambozola.  The natural rind contains moulds which help to develop the unique flavour of this farmhouse cheese.  Such a lovely example, yet again, of a truly wonderful small, family run, new English cheese enterprise.
