Tunworth
  • Tunworth

A true masterpiece of modern cheesemaking. Made by Stacey Hodges of  Hampshire Cheeses, Tunworth is made to a recipe similar to that of a French Camembert. Multi-award winning, it has been praised by renowned Chef Nigel Slater "Tunworth is a staple ingredient of my kitchen … because it is a world-class cheese with a well-deserved international reputation".

Hodges began cheesmaking as a hobby in 2004, starting in her family kitchen. Her passion soon developed and by 2006 after studying traditional French cheesemaking, Tunworth was born. Tunworth to this day is still produced using traditional Camembert making methods, including slow acidification and hand ladling. No cheese made in the UK has ever come as close to a French Camembert. It has a thin wrinkled rind, an aroma of mushrooms and a lingering sweet nutty flavour. Perfect on a cheeseboard or beautiful baked.
